Engineering Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager to play a pivotal role in the start-up and ongoing operation of a newly built, state-of-the-art manufacturing warehouse in Barnsley. This is a rare chance to shape the engineering function of a facility from day one, influencing everything from site commissioning to team development and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the commissioning and installation of machinery and production lines.
• Establish and manage a high-performing engineering team to support production.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and best practices.
• Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure the site is delivered on time.
• Lead health & safety initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Drive efficiency, uptime, and continuous improvement across engineering operations.

About You:

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager (or similar leadership role)
• Strong background in project management, ideally with experience of new site launches, machinery installation or production start-ups.
• Exceptional people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate.
• Strong working knowledge of HSE regulations, asset care, and modern maintenance.
