A Growing House Builder in Yorkshire are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager, based on experience to join their Technical Team. You will come from either a House Builder or Civil Engineering Contractor.
The business has established a strong presence across Yorkshire and is planning to expand into additional regions, with a secure pipeline of residential developments. As part of this continued growth, they are investing heavily in their Technical department and are looking to strengthen their in-house engineering capability.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting residential developments from land acquisition through to project delivery, acting as the technical lead for all civil engineering matters. There is genuine opportunity to develop into a larger management position as the business continues to grow and expand its engineering function.
Senior Engineer / Engineering Manager Position Overview
Lead the civil engineering aspects of residential developments from pre-construction through to project delivery
Review engineering reports and technical information to support land acquisition, feasibility studies and pre-construction activities
Prepare technical reports and coordinate high-level engineering designs with external consultants during the bid stage
Manage external engineering consultants throughout the design process, overseeing drainage, highways, levels, retaining structures and Section 38 / Section 278 agreements
Provide technical guidance and engineering support to the Land, Technical and Commercial teams throughout the development lifecycle
Support the continued growth of the engineering function, with the opportunity to mentor and develop a small engineering team as the business expands
Senior Engineer / Engineering Manager Position Requirements
Residential development experience is essential, gained with either a housebuilder or civil engineering consultancy
Strong civil engineering background with the ability to understand, review and coordinate engineering designs, rather than purely managing consultants
Broad knowledge of residential infrastructure including drainage, highways, levels, retaining structures and statutory agreements
Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Site 3D, with proficiency in at least one package preferred
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary consultants and technical teams
Full UK Driving Licence
