Engineering Manager (Database Platforms) - Central Manchester - Salary £90,000 + Bonus

The Company:
Lorien Global are working in partnership with an organisation based in Central Manchester whom are embarking on a transformation of how the business uses Data. As this team is growing significantly we're looking for a leader to help lead the team through this exciting time.

The Role:
Your responsibility spans the management of the Operational Database and Team of DBAs, a team that is critical to success of the business, including implementation of best database administration and database operations.

Working closely with the architects this is a genuine opportunity to implement innovative solutions within a critical business transformation project.

The Skill Requirements:
Candidates must have a blend of the following:

• Hands-on experience with Linux based databases is a must (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Strong team management skills, focusing on project delivery and team growth
• Excellent understanding of DBA concepts: Clustering, Performance Tuning, Security, Scaling etc.
• Solid understanding of critical transactional database operations, preferably within a live revenue generating platform
• Wider technical knowledge with AWS cloud platforms and NoSQL Databases would also be helpful
• Excellent communication skills with both internal and external teams

The Benefits:

• Salary £90,000
• Company bonus scheme (c10%)
• Hybrid working form central Manchester (2 days in the office a week)
• Flexible working hours
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (Increasing over time)
