Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards across manufacturing operations. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, reducing quality issues, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting a culture of quality throughout the business.
Candidates must have experience within precision engineering or hydraulic manufacturing.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: * Monitor and inspect incoming materials and components to ensure quality standards are met. * Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. * Manage non-conformance (NC) processes, root cause investigations, and preventative actions. * Conduct quality training, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives. * Analyse and report on quality trends, providing feedback and improvement recommendations. * Lead product failure investigations, warranty analysis, and corrective action activities. * Manage rework schedules and support product recall processes when required. * Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards. * Coordinate internal and external audits and support regulatory compliance activities. * Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to improve product quality and customer satisfaction. * Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality planning activities.
Essential Requirements: * Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering. * Minimum 2 years' experience in a quality role within an engineering or manufacturing environment. * Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, and root cause analysis. * Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems. * Understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding and coating/painting processes. * Strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills. * Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable Requirements: * Experience within precision engineering or hydraulic manufacturing. * MRP/ERP system experience. * ISO Internal Auditor qualification. * Strong understanding of customer quality requirements.
Working Hours: * Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00 * Friday: 08:00 - 14:00
