The Role
As Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and supporting a team of service engineers while actively contributing to service, repair, and calibration activities. You will play a key role in setting standards, improving performance, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support a team of service engineers, providing both technical guidance and day-to-day leadership Carry out hands-on service, repair, and validation/calibration work alongside the team Act as a senior point of contact for customers, handling queries and resolving issues professionally Support commercial activities, including pricing of labour and spare parts Assess warranty claims and make balanced, informed decisions Contribute to the growth and profitability of service contracts Ensure all work meets industry standards and aligns with relevant accreditation requirements Drive continuous improvement, focusing on efficiency, consistency, and high first-time fix ratesAbout You
Proven experience as a service or field engineer, with additional leadership or management responsibility Strong technical capability with the ability to lead by example in a hands-on environment Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with both customers and team members Commercially aware, with the ability to balance customer satisfaction and business needs Resilient and solution-focused, particularly in challenging situations It's important you have familiarity UKAS accreditation requirements.
