Engineering Surveyor

Location: London & South East, Hertfordshire

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance

Key Responsibilities

Work with project teams to define survey and geospatial needs
Design survey solutions that balance safety, practicality and cost
Produce scopes, technical proposals and fee estimates
Price and quote for geospatial services
Advise on survey methods, outputs and deliverables
Support bids, tenders and pre-construction planning
Coordinate with survey crews to ensure jobs are scoped correctly and delivered well
Identify opportunities where new technology and smarter workflows can add value
Help grow the geomatics offering by identifying new opportunities
Stay up to date with survey standards, best practice and emerging technology

Requirements

HND, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Background in surveying, geomatics or geospatial work
Broad technical knowledge covering control and setting out, topo, laser scanning, UAV, monitoring, GIS, machine control, tunnelling, bathymetry and PAS128 utility mapping
Experience producing or supporting scopes, estimates, quotes or technical proposals
Confident communicator with commercial awareness and an appetite for business development
Strong focus on HSQ and a sharp eye for detail
MRICS, MCInstCES or equivalent, or working towards chartership
Experience on major schemes across rail, water, energy, transport or heavy civils beneficial
Familiarity with BIM and Digital Engineering workflows beneficial
Full UK Driving Licence
