As an English Teacher, you'll play a crucial role in fostering a love for language and literacy among our students. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact, ignite curiosity, and cultivate critical thinking and communication skills in our learners.

English Teacher Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons that cover a range of literary genres, writing styles, and language skills, tailored to the needs and interests of students.
• Utilise a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to engage students and enhance their understanding of key literary concepts and techniques.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to express themselves creatively, explore diverse perspectives, and develop their own voice as writers and thinkers.
• Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth and development.
• Promote a love for reading by introducing students to a wide range of texts, genres, and authors, and encouraging independent reading habits both in and out of the classroom.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Relevant university degree in English or a related field.
• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English within a UK school setting is preferred, but not essential.
