English Teacher / Stoke-on-Trent / January Start / 12-Month Contract

Academics is recruiting an inspirational English Teacher to join a successful and forward-thinking department on a 12-month maternity cover, starting January 2026. For the right candidate, an earlier start can be arranged.

The Role:

Teach English across KS3 and KS4
Deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured lessons
Inspire students and support strong progress and exam outcomes
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement
Plan and assess in line with school and department policies

What We're Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with an English specialism
Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English Language and Literature
A commitment to inclusive, high-quality teaching for all students
A positive team player who brings enthusiasm, ambition, and fresh ideas
