Role Overview

Are you an English Teacher seeking long-term stability and a chance to truly embed yourself within a school community? We are recruiting a Qualified English Teacher for a high-performing secondary school in Barrow-in-Furness.

This is a rare, extended contract starting immediately. The role is confirmed until July 2026, with a pre-approved extension through to December 2026, providing you with over 18 months of guaranteed placement.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning: Deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and assess work in line with GCSE specifications to ensure maximum student progress.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment using the school's established behaviour policies.
Departmental Collaboration: Work as part of a vibrant English faculty to share resources and best practices.Requirements

Qualifications: Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
Subject Knowledge: Strong command of the English curriculum at Secondary level.
Commitment: Ability to commit to the school for the full duration of the contract (through to Dec 2026).
