English Teacher (Behaviour School)

Salary: £173 per day
Contract: Temporary – until the end of the academic year

TeacherActive is working with a secondary-aged Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Monmouthshire that is looking for a dedicated English Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year.

The successful English Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons to secondary-aged pupils, adapting their teaching to meet a range of individual learning, behavioural and emotional needs. You will work closely with experienced support and pastoral staff to create a structured and positive classroom environment where pupils can re-engage with their education.

The successful English Teacher will:

Hold QTS and have experience teaching English at secondary level
Have strong knowledge of the English curriculum
Be confident supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs
Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management
Be able to adapt lessons to suit different abilities and learning needs
Build strong, professional relationships with pupils
Be resilient, patient and able to remain calm when faced with challenging behaviour
Be passionate about helping pupils re-engage with learning and achieve their potential
Previous experience working within a PRU, alternative provision, SEMH setting or similar environment would be highly desirable.

Pay: £173 per day
