About the Role:

A comprehensive school in Bedford, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join their committed department. You will teach English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5, fostering a love of reading and writing while ensuring excellent academic outcomes.

The successful candidate will also support enrichment activities such as debating societies, creative writing workshops, and theatre productions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5.


• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.


• Contribute to enrichment activities such as debating, writing clubs, and drama.


• Monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback.


• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development.

About You:

• A degree in English or related subject.


• A formal teaching qualification with QTS (PGCE or equivalent).


• Experience teaching at KS5 desirable.


• Passion for inspiring a love of literature and writing.


• Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
