The Role:

We are delighted to present a remarkable opportunity for an accomplished English Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in East Sussex, commencing in September 2024. This full-time, permanent position offers a stimulating and enriching environment where you will contribute to the academic and personal development of Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging and rigorous English lessons that inspire a love of literature and language in students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.


• Develop innovative curriculum plans and assessments that align with national standards and school objectives.


• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages critical thinking, effective communication, and independent learning.


• Provide constructive feedback and tailored support to students, enabling them to reach their full potential.


• Actively participate in departmental meetings and initiatives, collaborating with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and learning experiences.


• Remain abreast of current pedagogical approaches and educational research to continuously improve teaching practice.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in English or a related field


• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification


• Demonstrated experience teaching English at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5


• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills


• A passion for English and a commitment to student success
