A thriving independent school north of York is seeking an English Teacher from January 2026 to join its expanding English faculty.

• English Teacher required from January 2026.


• York (Easingwold Area) – Independent Day & Boarding School.


• Seeking a specialist to deliver a rich English curriculum with emphasis on literature, creative writing, classical texts and oracy development.

You will deliver English from KS3–KS5, supporting academic extension programmes, debating societies and literary competitions. The role includes developing creative enrichment activities and contributing to whole-school literacy initiatives.

Experience and Qualifications

• QTS desirable; strong English teaching experience essential.


• Degree in English Literature, Language, Classics or a related field.


• Experience teaching high-attaining learners and supporting creative writing.


• Interest in enrichment such as debating, theatre or writing clubs.
