About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified English Teacher to join our successful English department. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, have excellent subject knowledge, and be committed to delivering engaging and effective lessons to students of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable)


• Assessing and monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback


• Contributing to the development of the English curriculum


• Working collaboratively with colleagues in the English department and across the school


• Creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students


• Participating in school events and activities

The Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


• A strong academic background in English


• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English


• Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons


• A commitment to high standards of achievement and behaviour


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
