Education First are recruiting a passionate, enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Romford from January 2027.

The school is seeking a motivated teacher who can deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspire a love of reading and writing, and help students achieve their full academic potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English Teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for a full-time, long-term position with the potential to make a lasting impact.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons, planning and adapting learning activities, assessing student progress, maintaining high classroom standards and supporting pupils of different abilities.

Key Responsibilities

* Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.

* Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.

* Prepare students for GCSE examinations and assessments.

* Monitor, assess and track student progress.

* Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement.

* Differentiate lessons to support pupils of varying abilities.

* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

* Work collaboratively with the English department and wider teaching team.

The Ideal Candidate

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.

* A degree in English or a relevant subject.

* Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school.

* Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature.

* Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.

* Passion for raising attainment and inspiring students.

* ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.

Safeguarding & Compliance

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and undergo the school's safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check with children's barred list check where applicable. Satisfactory references, employment history checks and appropriate qualification verification will be required. Knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the Prevent Duty is essential.
