The Role

We are currently recruiting for two experienced English Teachers to join a welcoming secondary school in Lytham St Annes (FY8) from January 2027 until July 2027.

Both positions are full-time, long-term roles and would be ideal for passionate English educators looking to secure a consistent position for the remainder of the academic year.

The successful educators will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting pupils to develop their confidence, knowledge and skills in both English Language and Literature.

Key Responsibilities

As an English Teacher, you will be expected to:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 & KS4
Teach English Language and Literature in line with the school's curriculum
Prepare pupils effectively for assessments and examinations
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
Monitor, assess and provide constructive feedback on pupil progress
Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school team
Contribute positively to the school community

The Successful Educators

To be considered for these positions, you must have:

Previous experience teaching English across KS3 & KS4
Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
A genuine passion for English and supporting young people to succeed
The ability to commit to a full-time position from January until July 2027

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
