Norfolk County Council is looking for a motivated and motivated individual to join the Careers Hub as an Enterprise Coordinator to work directly with Alternative Provision settings, c10 institutions, located across Norfolk and Suffolk.

This role will complement existing EC and Careers Hub support provided to other schools and colleges across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Careers Hub is part of a national initiative delivered in partnership with the CEC (Careers and Enterprise Company), to support schools and colleges in providing high-quality careers education. The Hub works with schools, colleges and employers to build stronger links between education and the world of work.

About the Role

As an Enterprise Coordinator (EC), working with the Alternative Provision Schools across both counties, you will be the main link between the Alternative Provision schools and employers. You will help them work together to improve careers education for young people and providing support to Alternative Provision schools to embed the Government’s future ambition for modern work experience.  You will develop the local strategy and activity supporting this, relating to the demand, supply, quality and process of modern work experiences, facilitating opportunities particularly aimed at closing the disadvantage gap.

Your main responsibilities

• Sharing best practice, promoting the Gatsby Benchmarks (a national framework for good careers guidance) and supporting education leaders at Alternative Provision schools to embed these across the school curriculum.
• Supporting Careers Leaders/Senior Leadership Teams at Alternative Provision schools to improve school's careers programmes.
• Building relationships between schools and employers.
• Helping employers get involved in careers activities and work experience at alternative provision schools. 
• Identifying administration issues and other barriers faced by employers with supporting Alternative Provision.
• Schools with career activities and arranging modern work experience.  Challenge and reduce these, linking to national systems to overcome barriers and support local implementation.
• Upskilling employers and schools to host meaningful equalex-ready experiences for young people at Alternative Provision schools.
• Support identification of CPD needs in relation to the provision of a WEx guarantee.
• Support the roll out and adoption of digital tools.
• Provide regular feedback and reporting to the Career Hub Leads and to the Careers & Enterprise Company, engaging as the local representative by attending Communities of Practice and other interventions led by the CEC to support with readying Alternative Provision Schools and the wider system for the future modern work experience guarantee ambition.
• Acting as an ambassador for the Hub across Norfolk and Suffolk.
• You will also help organise events, support training sessions, and promote employer engagement in careers education.

Ideal candidates will need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of careers, education, information advice and guidance (CEIAG), understand Alternative Provision school settings and barriers faced by young people at these schools.  You will have experience in building relationships at all levels, with a wide range of external stakeholders. You will have a proven ability to successfully engaging with senior leaders in schools, evidence of partnership working and a track record of effective engagement with different types and sizes of businesses.

This role will be operational across Norfolk and Suffolk; therefore, access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence are essential.
