One of our client is seeking a passionate and motivated Entry -Level Chef to join our culinary team and contribute to the preparation of authentic South Asian cuisine. As an entry -level chef specializing in South Asian cuisine, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic kitchen environment while gaining hands -on experience in the art of traditional cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of South Asian dishes, including curries, rice dishes, tandoori specialties, and street food snacks, under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
Learn and follow recipes and culinary techniques specific to South Asian cuisine, ensuring adherence to traditional flavors, spices, and cooking methods to maintain authenticity.
Assist in ingredient preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and grinding spices, to support efficient kitchen operations and timely service delivery.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas, to ensure a hygienic and safe working environment.
Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items, to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Requirements
Passion for South Asian cuisine and a desire to learn and develop culinary skills in this specialty.
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations, with a willingness to undergo training and mentorship.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast -paced kitchen environment.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, to accommodate the needs of the business and ensure adequate kitchen coverage during peak hours
