Environmental Crime Officer

Environmental Crime Officer - West London - Rate: £36.00 per hour (Umbrella)

A West London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Environmental Crime Enforcement Officer to investigate and tackle environmental crime, waste offences, fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles and wider anti-social behaviour issues.

Key Responsibilities:

* Investigate fly-tipping, waste and duty of care offences, commercial waste compliance and environmental nuisance complaints.

* Enforce legislation relating to abandoned vehicles, infestations, public health and highway-related issues.

* Gather evidence, prepare witness statements and issue Fixed Penalty Notices where appropriate.

* Respond to resident and elected member enquiries, managing complaints and ensuring appropriate enforcement action is taken.

* Investigate multiple complaints and work to resolve environmental crime and ASB issues effectively.

Essential Requirements:

* Proven experience in environmental crime enforcement within a local authority.

* Strong practical knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and other relevant legislation and enforcement powers.

* Demonstrable experience in investigations, evidence gathering, issuing Fixed Penalty Notices and managing complaints.

* Excellent communication and case management skills, with the ability to deal confidently with residents and elected members
