Environmental Engineer

Janikin Energy are in partnership with one of the industry-leading Zero Harm safety platform companies, they require a Principal Environmental Engineer to work on a oil and gas project in Surrey.

As a Principal Environmental Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our environmental strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will lead environmental impact assessments, develop mitigation plans, and implement best practices to minimize the ecological footprint of our operations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will provide technical expertise and guidance on environmental matters, fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:
Lead environmental impact assessments for new projects and operations, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement environmental management plans to mitigate adverse effects on air, water, and land resources.
Conduct regulatory compliance reviews and ensure adherence to relevant environmental laws and standards.
Provide technical support to project teams, advising on environmental best practices and innovative solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally to promote environmental awareness and drive continuous improvement.
Monitor environmental performance metrics and analyse data to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
Stay abreast of emerging environmental issues and technologies, incorporating new developments into company practices as appropriate

Skills & experience:
Experience from Oil & Gas sector preferred
Ideally the candidate will have working-knowledge and experience in LNG
Able to undertake any specific area of Environment Engineering scope independently.
Skills gained through undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including final year design projects and any work placements.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
