🔎 The Role

You will play a key role in improving housing conditions across the borough, focusing on private sector housing enforcement and standards.

Responsibilities include:

* Carrying out property inspections under the Housing Act

* Investigating complaints relating to housing conditions

* Identifying hazards using the HHSRS framework

* Taking appropriate enforcement action where required

* Working with landlords, tenants, and external partners to drive improvements

* Supporting wider public health and housing initiatives

✅ What We’re Looking For

* Qualified Environmental Health Officer (or equivalent recognised qualification)

* Experience in Private Sector Housing / Housing Enforcement

* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (Housing Act, HHSRS, etc.)

* Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

* Ability to manage your own caseload effectively
