Equity Release Underwriter

The Equity Release Underwriter role involves assessing Lifetime Mortgage applications in line with lending policy, ensuring accurate and timely decisions to support customer needs. Working within a small, agile underwriting team, you will liaise with brokers, solicitors, and internal stakeholders to drive cases to completion.

Description

The Equity Release Underwriter will be expected to:

• Assess Lifetime Mortgage applications against lending policy and regulatory requirements.

• Manage a pipeline of cases through to completion, reviewing documentation such as valuations and credit reports.

• Liaise closely with brokers, solicitors, and internal teams to progress applications efficiently.

• Present recommendations for cases outside of mandate to senior underwriters.

• Support the completions team when necessary, ensuring timely and clear responses.

Profile

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, proactive individual with some experience in underwriting, case packaging or mortgage processing. You will have strong communication skills, the ability to analyse information, a good grasp of FCA regulations, and a collaborative mindset suited to a fast-paced environment.
