Job Description - ESG Manager

The role of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager is critical to the continued growth & success of the FPC business globally, and is responsible for managing and ensuring that the FPC business meets its Environmental, Social and Governance objectives across all operating regions globally, specifically including (but not limited to):

Environmental obligations in respect of sustainability, energy usage and impact on the environment
Social, including H&S and Wellbeing as set out by the relevant health and safety organisations globally (Health and Safety Executive, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, International Labour Organisation)
Governance, specifically in respect of including ISO Quality Management, internal audits

In addition, the ESG Manager is expected to be an active member of the FPC Business Operations team, to make a positive contribution to the development of the team and wider FPC business, working effectively with all FPC colleagues to successfully and safely deliver projects and support the achievement of FPC business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Working as a part of the FPC Business Operations team, and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the key responsibilities of the ESG Manager is to, including but not limited, to the following key aspects:

Overarching ESG Responsibilities:
Report to COO, acting in accordance with their requests and direction and those of FPC Executive Management (CEO & CTO)
Work with the FPC Executive and Senior Leadership Teams to define, champion and ensure achievement of FPC business Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives across all operating regions globally
Manage and lead ESG initiatives and activities across the business, providing regular reporting to the Executive team
Maintain expertise, knowledge and understanding of ESG industry trends, developments and initiatives
Positively contribute to the development of the team and wider FPC business, working effectively with all FPC colleagues to successfully deliver projects and support FPC's business objectives
Environmental Responsibilities:
Ensuring that FPC meets its Environmental objectives including Management, Maintenance and Retention of FPC ISO 14001 Certification
Managing, reporting on and, where able, helping to drive improvement in the achievement of Environmental Objectives to support the sustainable delivery of our business operations and services (for example working with FPC Business Operations colleagues to provide reporting on FPC Carbon Footprint / Offset, Corporate Social Responsibility)
Management of FPC London Office space, including liaison with landlord and staff and ensuring that all FM requirements, site inductions, policies and processes are fit for purpose and adhered to
Management of company issued devices, tools, equipment for site work
Social Responsibilities:
Ensuring that FPC meets its Social Objectives including Health & Safety, as set out by global H&S bodies
Managing, reporting on and, where able, helping to drive improvement in the achievement of Social Objectives across all FPC business operations and services
A crucial role of the ESG Manager will be the Health & Safety Officer responsible for all statutory, regulatory, local and company Health & Safety (H&S) matters across all FPC regions globally and that FPC provides a safe working environment for all. This requires that the ESG Manager:
Be responsible for ensuring that all FPC staff, projects, remote working and office locations are safe and compliant with all local (in country/region) H&S regulations and requirements, including, but not limited to:
Production of H&S Risk Assessments and Method Statements (UK) or equivalent H&S requirements
Maintenance and operation of all H&S documentation and records including Accident Book
Ensuring Workstation Safety Assessments (including Display Screen Equipment - DSE) are conducted for all FPC employees and provisions are put in place in accordance with findings and that employees are aware of their available options for eye tests in accordance with DSE
Promoting employee access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) across all regions Be responsible for H&S Incident Management, responding effectively to incidents, liaising with appropriate authorities and stakeholders, ensuring that company obligations are met and that follow up actions are carried through to completion to ensure a safe working environment
Own and maintain FPC Company Health & Safety policy, processes and procedures, including:
Ensuring that they are fit for purpose, meeting all statutory, legal, regulatory and company requirements
Communicated to, understood by and complied with by all FPC team members as appropriate to their roles and responsibilities
Providing guidance and support in their application within the business
Manage all H&S Incidents, working with local and global FPC teams
Manage and successfully deliver FPC employee Wellbeing activities as set out by Health and Safety organisations globally (Health and Safety Executive, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, International Labour Organisation) initiatives including surveys, reporting and promoting awareness and access to supporting services (for example Employee Assistance program)
Planning and Coordinating FPC Toolbox Talks with internal and - where appropriate - external subject matter experts
Governance Responsibilities:
Ensuring that FPC meets its Governance objectives
Managing, reporting on and, where able, helping to drive improvement in the achievement of Governance Objectives across all FPC business operations and services
Support the COO in addressing Governance matters across the organisation
Quality (ISO) Management including:
Management, Maintenance and Retention of FPC ISO 9001 Certifications
Owning and delivering Continual Improvement to ensure that FPC ISO processes and associated documents are in line with company requirements and that all ISO requirements are met by FPC business and colleagues
Identify, develop, deliver and support opportunities for continuous improvement for FPC
Managing External ISO Auditor Relationships and liaising on all external ISO audits
Managing Internal ISO Audits program, working with internal auditors to ensure the Audits are completed in a timely manner
Following through and managing any Non-Conformances arising out of the Internal Audits or resulting from any deviation from the standard ISO processes adapted by the company
Business Risk and Continuity Planning
Ensuring understanding and adherence to any Ethics Wall or Conflict of Interest for any contracts that require such policies
Manage own workload, communicate and escalate any issues to line manager accordingly
Act in accordance with all FPC employment policies and procedures, including FPC Employee Handbook, Health & Safety and Time and Expenses Reporting
Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by FPC Executive and Senior Management

Requirements

The ESG Manager should possess experience and qualifications in the following:

Minimum of 10 years Facilities Management and Built Environment industry experience
Proven experience and/or qualifications in related areas of ESG such as H&S & Facilities Management
Effective Stakeholder Management and communication skills, including attending project, client and team meetings, document writing and presentation skills
Construction Industry Health & Safety Qualifications (SSSTS, Level 2 H&S or equivalent)
Experienced in the development and implementation of H&S Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) and/or equivalent documentation
Strong and effective team leadership and management skills
Understanding of H&S and FM contractual requirements with good analytical skills
Competent using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office software applications
Health and Safety focused and certified (IOSH preferred)
Construction and Facilities Management Projects and Contracting
