Estimator – Torquay
A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established business known for its dedication to local projects, use of local suppliers, and strong focus on employee wellbeing.

As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of projects across various sectors, including Education, Commercial, Retail, Leisure, and Healthcare, involving both new builds and refurbishments. Your responsibilities will include understanding client requirements, researching and gathering quotes, and monitoring project costs from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiating and managing projects with efficient procedures
• Procuring materials and managing off-site services
• Assisting with work package development alongside the project team
• Issuing and evaluating subcontractor tender invitations
• Ensuring positive cash flow through timely valuations, invoicing, and collections
• Supporting the resolution of final accounts, including variations and disputes
• Contributing to cost-value reconciliations and forecasts
• Reviewing tender inquiries for accuracy and completeness
• Managing supply chain communications and documentation
• Analysing costs and preparing detailed price submissions
• Monitoring bid progress and aligning budgets with project forecasts

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar estimating role
• Proven background in Design & Build (D&B) projects
• Strong track record in construction estimating
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly numerate with strong problem-solving ability
• Proficient in IT and relevant estimating software
• Full, valid driving licence
