Their portfolio includes a wide variety of refurbishment, fit-out and new-build schemes across: Education & Schools Healthcare Care Homes Hotel Refurbishments Commercial Upgrades & Extensions Typical project values range from £500k - £15m, with a strong focus on quality delivery, repeat business and long-term client relationships. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their team in Hockley. Estimator - Main Contractor - Essex The Role: This is an excellent opportunity for a self-sufficient Estimator who is comfortable managing the full tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced SME environment, taking ownership of multiple tenders simultaneously while working closely with the commercial and operational teams. This is a full-time office-based role, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm. Key Responsibilities: Manage tender enquiries from initial review through to final submission Prepare detailed cost plans, take-offs and pricing documents Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations Identify value engineering opportunities where appropriate Liaise with operational and commercial teams throughout pre-construction stages Attend tender meetings and assist with client presentations where required Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and clients Ensure tenders are completed accurately and within deadlines Estimator - Main Contractor - Essex Candidate Requirements: My client are looking for someone dependable, proactive and collaborative - not necessarily a highly corporate “sales-style” personality, but someone who will integrate well into the existing team and take genuine ownership of their work. Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Estimating role within construction or refurbishment Strong understanding of commercial construction processes Ability to manage multiple tenders independently Excellent organisational and communication skills Commercial awareness and attention to detail Highly Desirable: Experience delivering public sector refurbishment projects Previous exposure to education, healthcare or care home schemes Experience working within an SME contractor environment Estimator - Main Contractor - Essex Salary & Package: £60,000 - £70,000 basic salary (depending on experience) Flexibility available for exceptional candidates Full-time permanent position Office-based in Hockley, Essex Further package details discussed at interview stage Estimator - Main Contractor - Essex If you are an experienced Estimator looking to join a growing and well-respected contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the South East, we’d like to hear from you.
