We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor for an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team based in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator from any construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure background to join a business with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
The RoleAs Estimator, you'll play a key role in the tendering process, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of projects. Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you'll help secure new business while ensuring tenders are commercially viable and delivered to a high standard.
This is a varied position that offers exposure to a wide range of projects and genuine opportunities for career development.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering options.
Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Assist with pricing variations and commercial proposals.
Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.
Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.About YouWe're looking for an Estimator with strong commercial awareness and experience producing competitive tenders.
Ideally you'll have:

Previous experience as an Estimator or Assistant Estimator.
Experience within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, M&E or a related sector.
Strong understanding of estimating principles and cost planning.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
Full UK driving licence.What's on Offer
