Estimator - Passive Fire Protection

An established and growing compliance contractor is seeking an Estimator to join its commercial team, supporting the pricing and tendering of passive fire protection projects across a variety of sectors including healthcare, social housing, education and commercial property.

The role
Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially viable quotations for passive fire protection works. You'll play a key role in helping the business secure profitable projects whilst ensuring operational teams are set up for successful delivery.
Responsibilities will include:
* Pricing passive fire protection projects, including fire door and fire stopping works
* Reviewing tender documentation and client requirements
* Liaising with clients to fully understand project scope and expectations
* Attending site visits and pre-contract meetings where required
* Working with operational teams to establish project costs and delivery requirements
* Developing pricing models, schedules of rates and commercial proposals
* Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive rates
* Responding to quotation queries and supporting the bid process
* Assisting with the development of standardised pricing structures for smaller works
About you
* Previous estimating experience within construction, specialist contracting or passive fire protection
* Experience pricing passive fire or fire door works would be advantageous but is not essential
* Strong understanding of construction pricing principles and commercial processes
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills
* Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
* Strong Microsoft Office skills
* HND or equivalent qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Construction desirable
