Media– A prestigious media business that includes Frieze Magazine (1st issue 1991) and Frieze Week titles as well as a growing digital business that encompasses Frieze.com (the definitive resource for contemporary art and culture) and Frieze Studios Membership – A membership program, which aims to consolidate our media and events offerings for our audience across a variety of different tiers, including Frieze 91, In Person, In Print and In Depth Cork Street - A permanent gallery and event space in Mayfair for year-round exhibitions, events and partner activations in 2021Frieze has offices in London, New York, Chicago, Seoul and BerlinWhat You'll Do:The Frieze finance team manage all financial matters across the Frieze group of companies in London, New York & Berlin. Frieze is a global business which produces art fairs and original content (both print and digital) that focus on both contemporary and old masters art.As Events Management Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the accounts for one each of Frieze’s UK and US based entities, covering Frieze LA, New York, Seoul and Masters. This is including controlling the relevant AP/AR processes that underpin the accounts. In addition the role is responsible for partnering with departments across the business to ensure that management information is relevant & accurate and is distributed and collected timely and.Your work will support the Finance Manager, who holds responsibility for the delivery of all monthly management information. You will also be involved in various other finance tasks within the team such as VAT returns and group reporting. This role will provide you with exposure to working in a small finance team with an international remit.You will have a keen eye for detail and be organized and efficient at planning your time to meet deadlines and ensure all reporting and forecasting is completed promptly and monitored effectively.1. Management accounts: Year-end close, quarter end close and monthly close in accordance with US GAAP & Corporate Policies. Ability to understand, reconcile and review the profit & loss up to gross margin and balance sheet for each individual fair.Support the Finance Manager in the budgeting and forecasting process as well as the analysis of variances and KPI reporting.Provide support to Finance Manager by effectively reviewing and reconciling budgets on a continuous basis, ensuring accuracy in revenue and profit.Ensure the correct revenue recognition and reconciliation in accordance with policies as well as correct balance sheet classification2. Management of accounting functions:Active management of AP/AR process:Working with our 3rd party providers on invoicing, customer collectionsOwnership of AP/AR ledgersManagement of payment runs and cash flow – management of 3rd party suppliers to arrange weekly payment runs/ ad-hoc payments and instructing in allocation of cash. Review of weekly bank recs preparedManagement of expenses process:Review of correct coding and tax treatment of corporate and personal expense claims and processing into SAPEnsuring process runs in a timely fashion and cards are paid on time3. External ReportingCompletion of UK VAT and US Sales Tax returnsPreparation of group reporting templates as required4. General Finance SupportSupport the finance team with ad hoc work as requiredProvide holiday/absence cover for other team members as requiredWork on-site at the Frieze art fairs to support the wider Frieze workforce on Finance mattersSupport Financial Controller on Statutory Audit as requiredYou Have These: At least 1-2 years’ experience as a management account with ownership of P&L and Balance Sheet for a distinct business unit (or ownership of revenue and cost line and associated balance sheet functions)Prior experience of managing or running AP/AR processes an advantageRelevant accountancy qualification or significant progress towards one is an advantage, but not essentialExposure of working with small business accountsAttention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to use initiative and be proactiveExcellent time management skillsStrong work ethic, diligence, and integrityTeam playerFast learnerFlexibilityWorking Conditions:Permanent, London - Surrey StreetWorking Hours: 35 per weekWorking Days: Mon-FriEndeavor unites and brings people together in our love of sport, culture, and entertainment.
