Job Description - Event Manager

About Gosford House:

Gosford House is a prestigious historic property nestled amidst stunning parkland on the East Coast of Scotland. Built from the late 1790s, it serves as an exclusive use venue for private events (including weddings, corporate gatherings, and parties), filming, tours; as well as being the Scottish home of the Earl of Wemyss. Our mission is to deliver exceptional experiences while preserving the rich heritage of the house.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Event Manager to join our team at Gosford House. The Event Manager will play a pivotal role in orchestrating flawless events, ensuring that each occasion is executed with precision and exceeds our clients' expectations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a unique and historic setting, managing a diverse range of events and engaging with clients from various backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate all aspects of event planning and execution, from initial client consultations to post-event follow-up.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Manage event budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to achieve desired outcomes within established parameters.
Event setup, including coordinating vendors, arranging decor, and troubleshooting any logistical challenges.
Provide exceptional on-site event management, ensuring that all elements align with the client's vision and our quality standards.
Anticipate and address potential issues or concerns proactively
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance our offerings and elevate the guest experience.
Contribute to marketing and promotional efforts to attract new clients and promote Gosford House

Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in event management, preferably in a hospitality or luxury venue setting.
Proven track record of successfully planning and executing a variety of events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clientele and collaborate across departments.
Proficiency in budget management, contract negotiation, and vendor relations.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate event schedules.
Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset to handle unexpected challenges with grace and professionalism.
