An exciting opportunity to join a fast growing, market leading media company in Leeds.
As the events manager, you will be tasked with planning and co-ordinating our glittering award ceremonies and insightful conferences. Working closely with the teams across our Legal, Financial, Insurance and Educational markets. Some travel will be required (London, Manchester, Singapore, New York). Having expanded the number of events in recent years, the portfolio has huge opportunity to grow further, as will you!
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1.
Work closely with commercial and editorial teams to develop plans for existing events 2.
Contribute ideas to conference programmes, award judges and new ideas 2.
Manage event planning meetings and follow up actions. 3.
Negotiate with venues, vendors and suppliers 4.
Work with sponsors to deliver customer requirements 5.
Manage event logistics, AV, hosts, entertainment 6.
Manage the production/ circulation of marketing material 7.
Assemble and arrange delivery of delegate packs and exhibition materials as appropriate 8.
On-site management for each event, instructing contractors and internal staff 9.
Organise post event meetings - measuring event impact and ROI, feeding information back into the planning cycle for future events. 10.
Budget management 11.
Conferences, Exhibitions, Award Ceremonies 12. Manage events co-ordinator team member
Desired skills and experience
Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills required. Minimum 3+ years events experience in event management. Experience working on trade/ B2B events would be advantageous. Experience managing/ team leading would be advantageous. Flexibility to travel on occasion (including internationally). Motivated to grow events commercially.
