Job Description - Events Officer

Special Events Officer

Location: SE1, London (Hybrid – Minimum 2 days onsite)

Job Type: Full-time

Are you a dynamic events professional with a passion for delivering memorable experiences that make a real difference? A leading charitable organisation is looking for a talented Events Officer to join their high-performing fundraising team. This is your chance to take the lead on prestigious events that directly support a meaningful cause.

In this exciting role, you’ll be at the heart of a team that drives high-value donor engagement through exceptional event experiences. You’ll take ownership of two flagship annual events, including a unique countryside sporting event, and play a key role in cultivating relationships with major donors, sponsors, and celebrity supporters.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the end-to-end planning and delivery of two major fundraising events.
  • Chairing event committees and working closely with them to boost attendance and engagement.
  • Securing sponsorships, managing budgets, and ensuring income targets are met.
  • Collaborating with digital and marketing teams to enhance event communications and social media presence.
  • Managing event logistics, guest lists, prizes, and volunteer coordination.
  • Supporting VIP stewardship events and liaising with celebrity agents for a high-profile quiz night.

This is more than just an events role—it’s an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven team where your creativity, organisation, and relationship-building skills will have a tangible impact. You’ll thrive in a collaborative environment that values innovation, flexibility, and purpose.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in event planning (charity or corporate).
  • Confidence working with volunteer committees and high-profile stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems and auction platforms is a plus.

What’s on offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working model.
  • Time off in lieu for evening/weekend events.
  • A supportive, passionate team environment.

Ready to take the next step in your events career? Submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your relevant experience and what excites you about this opportunity. Let’s create unforgettable events that change lives.
