Excavator Operative

Location: East Midlands/ Nationwide
Employment Type: Full Time

Carnell is looking for an experienced Excavator Operative to join our Technology & Infrastructure team, supporting highway and civil engineering projects across the UK. This role involves nationwide travel, working away from home, and occasional night and weekend working.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate 10 tonne and above tracked excavators safely and efficiently.

* Carry out excavation, drainage, trenching and reinstatement works.

* Undertake lifting operations in line with CPCS/NPORS requirements.

* Excavate safely around underground services.

* Complete daily plant checks and basic maintenance.

* Work to site drawings, specifications and safe systems of work.

* Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality on site.

Essential Requirements

* Current CPCS or NPORS card for 10T+ Tracked Excavator with Lifting Operations.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

* Proven experience operating tracked excavators on construction, highways or civil engineering projects.

* Good understanding of safe excavation practices.

* Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.

* Highways or National Highways experience.

Desirable

* Cat & Genny.

* First Aid.

* Additional plant tickets (Dumper, Roller, Telehandler).
