We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our vibrant team in Bournemouth. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with additional needs, within a nurturing environment that values inclusion, collaboration, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the provision for pupils with special educational needs across the school. Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure high-quality support and positive outcomes for all pupils. Maintain and develop the school's SEND policy and practice in line with statutory requirements. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and support strategies. Provide training, guidance, and support to staff on SEND matters.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for SEN Coordination (or currently working towards it). Proven experience as a SENCO in a primary school setting. In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. A strong commitment to inclusive education and the wellbeing of every child.
