We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school environment. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
As a SEND TA, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support for students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND. Assist in delivering personalised learning activities and interventions. Support students' academic, social, and emotional development. Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom. Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals where required.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health & social care, or SEND support are advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
