Experienced Transport Planner

Transport Planner – Haulage

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum
Hours: 50 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday + 1 Saturday in every 4 weeks
On-Call: 1 week on a rota
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy haulage operation. Please only apply if you a Planner who manages routes.

You must have at least 2 years' experience working as a Transport Planner within the haulage industry.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who already understands transport planning, driver allocation and the day-to-day demands of a busy haulage operation.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily deliveries and collections.

Allocate drivers, vehicles and loads efficiently.

Plan routes and maximise fleet utilisation.

Monitor transport operations and resolve delays or issues.

Communicate with drivers, customers and warehouse teams.

Ensure compliance with drivers' hours, tachographs and transport legislation.

Maintain accurate records and update transport management systems.

Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Transport Planner within the haulage industry.

Proven experience planning and coordinating daily transport operations.

Good knowledge of UK roads and geography.

Understanding of drivers' hours, tachographs and transport regulations.

Experience allocating drivers, vehicles and loads.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.

Experience using TMS and Microsoft Office.

Please note: Previous experience as a Transport Planner within a haulage company is essential. Applications without this experience will not be considered.
