We are currently expanding our Extrusion Technician team based at our Clover Nook and Birchwood sites in Somercotes, Alfreton playing a key role in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting extrusion production lines, ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. We're committed to building a highly skilled Extrusion Technician team and recognising the value experienced technicians bring to our business. To support this, we're offering a £2,500 retention bonus for successful candidates joining this role. You'll receive the £2,500 retention bonus when you: Successfully complete your 3-month probationary period. Complete 6 months of continuous service as an Extrusion Technician. (The bonus will be paid in the first payroll following the completion of your 6-month service milestone.) WHAT OUR EXTRUSION TECHNICIANS DO: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot extrusion production lines to meet required specifications and production standards Ensure products are brought into production within agreed timeframes and according to operational requirements Inspect, test, and sign off finished products to ensure all quality standards and customer specifications are achieved Support the control and monitoring of manufacturing processes for finished and semi-finished goods, ensuring consistent quality and compliance Work closely with Production Management to implement and support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence projects Proactively identify potential Health, Safety, and Environmental risks, and support actions to eliminate or reduce hazards within the workplace Maintain a safe, efficient, and organised working environment while adhering to company policies and procedures WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR EXTRUSION TECHNICIANS: Previous technical experience in extrusion, manufacturing, or a similar production environment, including tooling set-up, troubleshooting, and quality control Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications Experience carrying out product inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with required standards Demonstrable practical, on-the-job technical training and experience Strong attention to detail with the ability to make logical and informed decisions Ability to think ahead, prioritise tasks, and plan effectively to support production requirements Good written and verbal communication skills Strong numeracy skills and the ability to accurately record and interpret production data Understanding of key Health & Safety principles and safe working practices within a manufacturing environment Experience working within a factory or production setting and comfortable working long shifts WHAT WE OFFER OUR EXTRUSION TECHNICIANS: You will be rewarded with a very competitive basic salary £2,500 retention bonus 25 days holiday, plus statutory holidays - normally 33 days in total each year Free Healthcare plan for all employees Enhanced Maternity and Paternity benefit Free Life Assurance Plan of 3x your Annual Salary Christmas shutdown Option to join the Eurocell Share Save Scheme at discounted rates, and share in our company success Company Pension Plan Employee discount on Eurocell products Discounts across many well-known online and high street retailers A blend of training, including e-learning and on the job training to help your career development Care First Employee Assistance Programme, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for confidential support and advice, if and when you need it Colleague Referral Programme; we pay you for successfully referring people to join our team Excellent opportunities to grow with us, and progress your career Apply Eurocell Group PLC Other Manufacturing 50 Jobs The company is part of Company Profile In Short Industry Construction & Property Founded 1974 Location Alfreton Company size 1000+ Our nationwide network We also operate a nationwide network of more than 190 branches, supplying a complete range of PVC-U roofline, conservatory roof, window trim and door products, as well as all the fixings, sealants and tools required for every building plastics job.
