6-7-month contract role with a local authority

Summary

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Early Years curriculum in accordance with the EYFS Framework.
  


• Lead the planning of engaging and age-appropriate learning activities for children aged 0–5.
  


• Monitor and evaluate curriculum delivery to ensure consistently high-quality practice.
  


• Promote the importance of play in children’s learning, both indoors and outdoors.
  


• Assess, observe, and track children’s progress, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  


• Use assessment outcomes to inform future planning and individual learning strategies.
  


• Ensure children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) have full access to the curriculum.
  


• Support children subject to child protection plans in line with legislation and policies.
  

• Proven experience teaching children aged 3–5 years.
  


• Experience working with children aged birth to 3 years (desirable).
  


• Experience within non-school or integrated early years settings (desirable).
  


• Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  


• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  


• Relevant teaching qualification with a focus on Early Years.
