EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant

Bright Star Talent is currently recruiting for an experienced and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Litherland.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support to a Reception child with ASD, helping them access learning, develop their communication and social skills, and feel settled and confident within the school environment.

This role would suit someone who has experience working with children with additional needs and understands the importance of patience, consistency and building a strong relationship with the child.

The Role

* Providing dedicated one-to-one support to a Reception child with ASD.

* Supporting the child to access lessons and take part in classroom activities.

* Helping with communication, social interaction and developing independence.

* Supporting the child with transitions between activities and different parts of the school day.

* Helping the child understand and follow classroom routines.

* Providing calm and consistent support where the child may become overwhelmed or dysregulated.

* Using positive and encouraging approaches to support behaviour and engagement.

* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.

* Supporting the child during learning, play, lunchtime and other school activities.

* Helping create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where the child can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate

* Previous experience supporting children with ASD or other additional needs.

* Experience working within EYFS, Reception or a primary school is highly desirable.

* A patient, calm and nurturing approach.

* Someone who can build a strong and trusting relationship with a young child.

* Confident working on a one-to-one basis while also being part of the wider classroom team.

* Good understanding of supporting communication, social development and emotional regulation.

* Reliable, consistent and able to work closely with teachers and other support staff.

* Enhanced DBS required.
