Full-Time | Immediate Start | Early Years SEND Support

Are you passionate about supporting young children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to learn, develop and thrive?

Ripple Education is currently recruiting a patient, caring and committed EYFS SEND Support Assistant for a primary school near Ashington, with an immediate start.

This is a full-time position supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We’re looking for someone who understands that every child develops differently and can provide nurturing, consistent and individualised support to help children feel safe, included and ready to learn.

The opportunity

You’ll work as part of the Early Years team, supporting children with additional needs throughout their school day.

Depending on the needs of the children, you may:

• Provide individual, small-group and classroom support
• Support children with their learning, play, communication and development
• Help children develop independence, confidence and social skills
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs
• Support communication and interaction
• Provide consistent support with emotional regulation and engagement
• Support children with transitions and daily routines
• Provide personal and intimate care where required
• Work closely with the class teacher, Early Years team, SENCO and other professionals
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive Early Years environment
• Follow individual school and Ripple Education safeguarding procedures at all times

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have:

• Relevant experience working with Early Years children
• Experience supporting children with SEND or relevant transferable experience
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• A patient, calm and compassionate approach
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
• Confidence adapting your approach to meet individual needs
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A good understanding of safeguarding
• Availability to work full-time with an immediate start

A relevant Teaching Assistant, Learning Support, Early Years or childcare qualification would be beneficial.

Previous SEND experience is highly valued. We also welcome applications from experienced Early Years, education and childcare professionals whose existing skills and experience may transfer effectively into a SEND support role.
