Salary: £92.56 - £115.89 per day (PAYE)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Term-time only)

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent (Temp-to-Perm)

About the Role

Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Early Years professional looking to make a genuine impact?

A highly regarded specialist Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) school in Chorley is seeking a passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their early years team. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity working Monday to Friday, starting immediately or for the upcoming term.

This position is initially on a temporary basis, with a direct view to a permanent contract for the correct candidate. You will be working within a nurturing Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting, supporting young learners who have autism and associated sensory or communication needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to EYFS children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

Assist the class teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum through structured, play-based learning and sensory activities.

Implement communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables to help non-verbal or minimally verbal pupils.

Foster a calm, safe, and stimulating environment that supports emotional regulation and sensory needs.

Monitor and record pupils' progress against their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Proven experience working with early years children (EYFS) and/or individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN), specifically Autism (ASC).

Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification is highly desirable.

Skills: Strong understanding of autism-specific communication barriers and sensory processing needs.

Attributes: A resilient, empathetic, and patient nature. You must be passionate about celebrating small steps of progress.

Requirements: A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

Why Choose This Role?

Stability: Consistent Monday to Friday hours providing an excellent work-life balance.

Career Progression: A clear pathway from temp-to-perm for the right candidate.

Supportive Environment: Work alongside a dedicated team of specialist teachers, therapists, and support staff.

Location: Conveniently located in Chorley, easily accessible from Preston, Leyland, Blackburn, and the wider Lancashire area.
