Academics Ltd is looking for a bright, dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join an excellent primary school on a full-time, long-term basis. You will be working within Reception, supporting children of all abilities, including pupils with Special Educational Needs.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children's learning and development during this important stage of their education.

You will help children develop their early reading, writing and communication skills, while also encouraging positive social interactions and relationships with their peers. You will actively engage with pupils, support creative and imaginative learning activities and help create those exciting moments when children make new discoveries and develop their understanding.

Key Responsibilities

Support children within Reception across all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to children with a range of abilities and needs.
Support children with Special Educational Needs and additional learning requirements.
Encourage the development of early reading, writing, communication and language skills.
Help children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
Support children to build positive relationships and interact appropriately with their peers.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, creative and age-appropriate activities.
Encourage children to explore, investigate and develop their curiosity through play-based learning.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
Help create a safe, inclusive, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support children's individual needs.
Observe children's progress and provide appropriate feedback to teaching staff.
Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all children at all times.
Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain high standards of professional conduct.Key Requirements

The ability to build strong and positive relationships with children.
Previous experience working with children is desirable.
Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs would be highly beneficial.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A willingness to learn and develop within an Early Years environment.
A positive and proactive approach to supporting children's learning.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
