Fabricator/Welder - Evening Shift

Our client is an evolving and fast-growing company who help landscape developers, architects, designers and specifiers to push the boundaries of what’s possible for urban landscapes. They are currently looking for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join their hardworking and busy team in Bodiam, East Sussex.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience of TIG and MIG welding, have an understanding of measuring tools and be able to read and follow technical drawings. As a Welder/Fabricator you will be predominately working with structural work, performing all welding work and providing assistance to the production processes.

Due to the location of this vacancy a full Driving Licence and own transport is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Demonstrable experience using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Metal Inert Gas (MIG)
• Solid understanding of mathematics
• Understanding of measuring tools such as callipers, rules, feeler gauges, and pi tapes
• Be able to read mechanical drawings
• Be polite, informative and have a professional attitude towards customers and co-workers
• Must be a multi-tasking team player

Your duties as a Fabricator/Welder will include:

• Fabrication and welding duties
• Evaluate all drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications
• Perform all welding work with the help of forming and cutting equipment
• Provide assistance to production processes and mould various fixtures
• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects
• Analyse diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly
• Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products
• Site work may be required on occasions

Salary and Rewards Package:

• £16.52 - £18 per hour depending on experience (This includes an 18% shift allowance)
• Staff bonus scheme after passing probation
• 22 days annual leave, plus bank holidays (This increases every year on the work anniversary up to an additional 5 days.) Christmas Closure – additional 3 days leave
• Birthday off if it falls on a working day
• Free sandwich van twice a week
