The position combines operational leadership across design, project management, site operations, and health & safety, with commercial oversight of cost, risk, and contractual performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership
* Lead and manage all operational departments including Design, Project Management, Site Management, and Health & Safety.
* Ensure project teams have clear objectives, resources, and support to achieve programme, quality, and budgetary targets.
* Chair regular operational meetings to monitor progress, resolve risks, and coordinate priorities across departments.
* Oversee staff allocation and workload balancing to maximise efficiency and output across multiple projects.
2. Commercial & Contractual Management
* Maintain full commercial control of live projects, acting as senior QS and commercial lead where required.
* Ensure timely and accurate valuations, applications, variations, and final accounts.
* Manage subcontractor procurement, orders, and account close-outs in line with contractual and company requirements.
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities at both project and business level.
* Support the Commercial Director in developing commercial strategies, forecasts, and margin performance reports.
3. Design & Technical Coordination
* Provide leadership and oversight to the Design Department, ensuring compliant, coordinated, and buildable solutions are developed to programme.
* Manage interface between design, manufacture, and installation to ensure seamless delivery.
* Review technical submittals and approve key design decisions impacting cost, programme, or safety.
4. Programme & Delivery
* Oversee master programmes and ensure sequencing aligns with design, manufacturing, and site resources.
* Ensure project teams monitor critical path items, report delays, and implement recovery strategies.
* Maintain close liaison with clients, main contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
* Act as senior operational lead for health & safety, ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 and company policies.
* Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership, training, audits, and visible engagement.
* Ensure toolbox talks, RAMS, permits, and inspections are properly managed across all sites.
6. People & Performance Management
* Line-manage the Design Team, Project Managers and Site Managers.
* Conduct annual appraisals, set objectives, and drive professional development across the operational teams.
* Identify training needs and competency gaps to support continual improvement.
* Promote collaboration between commercial, technical, and operational departments.
7. Strategic Contribution
* Support the Commercial Director and senior management team in business planning, process improvement, and margin enhancement initiatives.
* Contribute to tender reviews, buildability assessments, and pre-contract planning.
* Ensure consistent reporting of project and departmental KPIs to the board.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in façade, curtain walling or construction project delivery.
