Façade Designer

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist façade contractor based in Hemel Hempstead who is looking to appoint an experienced Facade Designer to join their growing technical team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering a wide range of façade packages across residential, commercial and refurbishment projects throughout London and the South East. The company operates as a design and build specialist, delivering rainscreen cladding, SFS, glazing and other external envelope systems from concept through to completion.

The Role

Working closely with the Technical Manager, Contracts Managers and commercial team, you'll be responsible for producing accurate design information and supporting projects from pre-construction through to installation.

Typical duties will include:

* Producing detailed façade drawings using AutoCAD (and Revit where applicable).

* Developing construction details and fabrication drawings.

* Coordinating designs with architects, structural engineers and main contractors.

* Ensuring designs comply with current Building Regulations and project specifications.

* Attending design meetings and resolving technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.

* Supporting value engineering and design development where required.

What I'm Looking For

* Previous experience as a Facade Designer, Cladding Designer or Envelope Designer.

* Strong knowledge of rainscreen cladding systems and façade construction.

* AutoCAD proficiency is essential.

* Experience with Revit would be advantageous.

* Good understanding of façade detailing, fixing methods and current UK Building Regulations.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a collaborative technical team.
