Facilities Engineer – Manufacturing
Our client is a well-established, highly respected manufacturing business seeking a Facilities Engineer to join their Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving a busy production facility, ensuring buildings, utilities and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory requirements.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining site facilities, managing contractors and delivering infrastructure projects that support continuous production.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the maintenance and performance of building services, including electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
* Oversee general building maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe and operational.
* Manage external contractors and service providers, including reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and issuing permits to work.
* Deliver facilities improvement projects, refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades from planning through to completion.
* Ensure statutory inspections, certifications and compliance requirements are maintained.
* Prepare and manage facilities maintenance budgets while controlling expenditure.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation and compliance paperwork.
* Support production by ensuring all site utilities and facilities remain reliable and available.
* Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
About You
We're looking for an organised and proactive engineer with experience in facilities or building services within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
You will ideally have:
* A recognised qualification supported by practical experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or Facilities Engineering.
* Experience managing building services and site infrastructure.
* Strong project management and contractor management skills.
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
* Experience managing maintenance budgets.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
