Job Summary – What to expect:

As a Facilities Multi-Skilled Tradesperson, you will provide effective support to the Central Engineering & Facilities (CE&F) team across our UK sites, helping to ensure efficient operations, minimal downtime and maximum productivity within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Senior CE&F Manager, you will work closely with Shift Engineers, external contractors and internal stakeholders to maintain buildings, facilities and essential services. 

Key responsibilities include:

1. Responding to Facilities Helpdesk requests and completing maintenance tasks within agreed timescales. 
2. Carrying out a range of routine and complex facilities maintenance activities, including electrical, plumbing, general building and carpentry work. 
3. Supporting Shift Engineers and assisting with maintenance activities across production and office environments. 
4. Liaising with contractors, supervisors and managers to coordinate maintenance and contract work safely and effectively. 
5. Maintaining a proactive, customer-focused approach while supporting operational and facilities requirements across multiple sites.

About you:

We are looking for someone with a practical, hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality facilities support. You should be able to work independently, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and demonstrate flexibility in a varied and fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Experience carrying out building and facilities maintenance activities such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry or general building work. 
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative. 
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and contractor management responsibilities. 
• Effective communication skills and confidence working with colleagues across all levels of the business.  
• Experience using Microsoft Office and business systems to maintain records and documentation.  
• A flexible, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently when required.  
• A good understanding of facilities and building systems within office and manufacturing environments. 
• A valid UK driving licence.  
• A Forklift Licence and/or MEWP (PAL) certification, or willingness to undertake training.  

Experience & Education:

This position would suit an experienced tradesperson with a broad range of facilities maintenance skills and experience in a manufacturing, industrial or similar environment.

Essential / Preferred Experience:

• At least three years' experience working in a similar facilities maintenance or skilled trades role. 
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment is desirable. 
• Knowledge of medical device or pharmaceutical production facilities would be advantageous. 
• Full Clean driving licence

Education & Qualifications:

• GCSEs or equivalent qualifications preferred.
• City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry, Plumbing or a relevant trade discipline preferred. 

Additional Information

• Based primarily at our Hamble site, with regular travel between Hamble and Chandlers Ford. Approximately 70% of time will be spent at Hamble and 30% at Chandlers Ford. 
• This is a hands-on role requiring mobility across sites and occasional work outside normal hours to support operational requirements. 
• You will work in manufacturing areas, plant rooms and office environments where appropriate PPE may be required.
