Job Description - Factory Supervisor

I’m working with a rapidly growing food manufacturing business that prides itself on high standards, strong team culture, and a real commitment to quality. With continued investment and expansion, they’re now looking for a Factory Supervisor to join their operations team and help lead from the front on the shop floor.

If you’re an experienced supervisor with a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a focus on continuous improvement, this could be a fantastic opportunity to step into a forward-thinking and supportive business.

The role:

Reporting to the Factory Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activity - ensuring KPIs are hit, processes run smoothly, and your team has everything they need to succeed. It’s a varied role that mixes people leadership with operational delivery and plenty of problem-solving.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting your team to consistently meet production targets
  • Monitoring KPIs and driving performance improvements across the line
  • Quickly identifying and escalating equipment or process issues
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of daily operations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, promoting a safety-first culture
  • Ensuring adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and compliance procedures
  • Coaching and developing staff, managing performance, and encouraging accountability
  • Identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing waste

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food, drink, or FMCG ideally)
  • Strong people management skills with a practical, proactive approach
  • Solid understanding of health & safety and quality compliance on the factory floor
  • Confidence in identifying risks, solving problems, and making decisions under pressure
  • A continuous improvement mindset - always looking for better, safer, more efficient ways to work
  • Bonus: experience with lean manufacturing, ERP systems, or production software
