We are currently seeking a Fencing Operative to join our Environmental Services team in Halifax. In this role you’ll play a vital role in enhancing our community's outdoor spaces. In this hands-on position, you’ll implement fencing improvement programs, manage repairs, and support the installation of new fencing.

Outline of Key responsibilities for the Fencing Operative…
To carry out all Installations, repairs, and the maintaining of fences on our properties.
Prepare and clean the work area before and after completing tasks.
Handle and operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Ensure all operations are compliant with health and safety regulations.
To help the Supervisor organize work, order materials, and ensure projects are completed on time and maintain quality.
To supervise and train Trainees and Apprentices, ensuring their safety and service standards are met.
To always follow good health and safety and equal opportunities practices and understand all Risk Assessments for tasks.
Providing high quality customer service to all volunteers/placements, trainees, and apprentices and customers
To support various departments as directed, including Mobile Cleaning, Estate Services Team, and Grounds Maintenance.
We are looking for someone who has…
Experience in fencing installation, or repairs and maintenance
Full manual UK driving Licence
Knowledge of different types of fencing materials and construction techniques.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and time management skills.
Excellent customer service skills
In return, we are offering the successful candidate in the Fencing Operative role:
Starting salary: £25,748 per annum
27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays

You will be working 37 hours per week, between 08.00am and 19.30pm any 5 days from 6 (Monday-Saturday) with a minimum of 30 mins unpaid lunch break.
