Job Description - Field Account Manager

Field Based Business Support Executive (pharmaceutical industry)

  • Annual Salary: Competitive
  • Location: Field-based within a pre-set geographical area in North London
  • Job Type: 12 month Maternity Contract

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Field based Business Support Executive to join this virtual network chain at this pharmaceutical distribution company. This role involves retail implementation, product training, therapy area training, and staff development. The successful candidate will work closely with pharmacy business owners and the wider Mentoring Team to drive positive business change and increase sales through effective training and relationship building.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage a regular panel of approximately 60 – 80 client meetings, visiting each 6 to 8 times a year to deliver a varied and challenging development agenda.
  • Create and maintain rapport and trusted relationships with pharmacy owners, pharmacists, healthcare advisors, and retail counter staff.
  • Provide product and therapy area detailing and education to in-store teams.
  • Capture and transmit transfer orders to support in-store activities and sales development.
  • Collate, record, and monitor key information, capturing training performance progress.
  • Complete regular account and individual assessments.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and develop compliance for space, distribution, and display of targeted brands.
  • Achieve core productivity KPI targets and gather insights on in-store and product competition activity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in dealing with business owners and key decision makers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels within pharmacy teams.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate product knowledge and benefits.
  • Strong sales process skills and a structured approach to influencing.
  • Effective time management and journey planning capabilities.
  • Experience in over-the-counter health, beauty, and healthcare product selling and detailing is an advantage.
  • Some knowledge of category management techniques.
  • Effective presentation skills and ability to use a variety of sales aids.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret numerical data to develop a communications action plan.
  • Strong commercial acumen and decision-making skills.
