The Field Techician / Engineer will ideally have some IT qualifications or equivalent. The ideal candidate will possess strong Cabling experience â installing Copper and Fibre Optic Cabling to industry standards. He will possess IT Network troubleshooting skills with decent exposure to configuration interfaces of various networking hardware.
As the Field Techician / Engineer, you will be involved in the rapid deployment and maintenance of IT Networks in the United Kingdom and Europe. You will be responsible for installation of cables, termination looming, dressing, racking of IT hardware on various client sites. You will be expected to drive (using the companyâs vehicle) to the clientâs premises equipped with all it takes to get the job done.
You will be expected to work with office-based configuration support team to carry out on-site activities to pre-defined standards.
The Field Techician / Engineer will be expected to be extremely hardworking and flexible. The job, many times, involves long driving and working hours when at work. However, long hours are compensated with adequate days off. As such, you need to be mentally prepared for the task.
The Field Techician / Engineer will also be expected to be smart, eloquent, client-facing and very resourceful.
Knowledge of Coaxial and IRS systems will be of huge advantage.
CSCS, IPAF certification.
Responsabilities
⢠Data Cabling â Cat5e/Cat6 and Optical Fibre Cabling and termination to industry standards.
⢠General network configuration and support for small, medium and large sized projects
⢠On-site support for conferences and events
⢠On-site support for remote execution of change requests
⢠In-house configuration/preparation of network hardware for future on-site deployment
⢠Provide remote support for field engineers and clients
⢠Conducting on-site surveys for installation of WiFi networks
⢠Building and presentation of post-install survey reports
⢠Building detailed network diagrams and documentation
⢠Ability and willingness to work in teams
⢠Ability to lead installation teams
⢠Ability to produce well-defined and detailed status reports
